Designers and AI_ Master thesis insights

Generative AI tools can create mock-ups, build websites and generate graphics. In theory, these software programs could execute the same creative tasks as a designer. This suggests that the design process is irrelevant to the final product or service. Even an AI can "make pretty looking things."

However, AI as a field of work and research is considerably more complex. The same is true of designers' creative skills.

For my Master's thesis, "Exploring the Interactions between AGIs, AIs, Humans and non-human Species" I conducted various visual experiments* and gained valuable new insights into the role of designers in the AI industry.

I have summarised the key findings in three following articles:

*In future portfolio posts, I will discuss the execution and application of individual experiments in more detail.
