The new players of the department store_ short movie
In the heart of Dessau stands an empty department store with a 100-year history. Initially known as Kaufhaus Zeeck, the building became part of the state retail organisation in the DDR and was renamed Magnet Kaufhaus. And today? A family and individual players are continuing the story of the
department store:
Wiebke, the dance instructor; Tran Vy Dinh, the filmmaker and event technician; and Dr Barbara Steiner, the director of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, discuss in an interview how they intend to use and shape the department store, both now and in the future.

Finding an idea - deciding on a format - contacting potential interviewees - formulating interview questions - setting up appointments with interviewees - obtaining film equipment - taking test shots of the film location - setting up the set - conducting and filming the interview - reviewing, sorting and editing the footage - gathering feedback - adding effects and text - showing the short movie to an audience!
